Question:
I wonder why Margo Roth Spiegelman didn’t go with Quentin Jacobsen? I find it
hard for Quentin to move on in that situation considering that he has given up
some important things for himself spending sleepless nights and working out
stuffs just to track Margo. For me it doesn’t pay Quentin and his friends’
efforts at all. I thought, what if Margo joined them back to Jefferson Place
that day? Isn’t it satisfying and happier? Will it bring relief to Margo’s
parents? Will she be given the attention she used to have in school? Or Would it be a happy ending for Margo
and Quentin?
Connection:
The way Quentin and his friends, Ben, Radar, and Lacey bond together reminds
me of my friends, chilling around and do nothing but disturb the peace, make
noises, speak out our minds, do some sleepovers to play card games and movie
marathons.
Another
connection I had with the story is that when I go to school, there is this girl
whom I always look for. Her eyes are sweet. Her smile is so extravagant and her
face is angelic. She is gorgeous in her own simple way. And like Quentin gives
attention to Margo, it seemed that this girl is very ideal for me and I on the
other hand was smiling and was left beset by thoughts of her but SHE HAS A
BOYFRIEND -_-
Prediction:
Time will come, Margo Roth Spiegelman And Quentin Jacobsen will cross roads and
they got to:
1)Greet each other. 2) Go out on a date 3)
Reminisce the old days 4) Realize
that they really love each other and they are meant to be 5) Get married 6) Invite
Ben, Radar and Lacey to the wedding 7)
Do Honeymoon 8) Have babies 9) Feel Amazing 10) Live happily ever after.
Reflection:
Margo, the daughter of her parents, sister of Ruthie, Lacey’s best friend and
Quentin’s love interest left with an enigma. Quentin a.k.a “Q”, on the other
hand, just did everything to find her and I commend him for having the
courage and perseverance. It was smart of him to decipher the inklings left by
Margo. If I was on Q’s I can’t do that heroic stuff. You know, sneaked out from
graduation drove the van to Agloe, New York and bring three friends of multiple
personalities just to find the girl of my dreams, the missing piece of my
puzzle and the girl who captured my heart.
I admire the character of Margo, witty and deep, appealing but tough, hilarious
but an explorer type of chic and mysterious. But I didn’t think it
was right for her to leave everyone hanging. Though she was already found, it
was still nerve-wracking and everybody was like crazy searching for her.
I appreciate the role of Q’s parents. They are loving as normal parents would
do their children and they are always supportive and understanding though Q
left them in his graduation with a big “WHAT?”
In
totality, This young-adult novel called Paper Towns is an interesting one
because of the twists but if there is a lesson that I learned from this story
it would be. Every moment of your life is lived for the future-you go to high school
so you can go to college so you can get a good job so you can get a nice
house so you can afford to send your kids to college so they can get a
good job so they can get a nice house so they can afford to send their
kids to college. This is a quote from Margo.
PART 2
CHARACTER PROFILES: DRAW PICTURE OF HOW YOU IMAGINE A
CHARACTER WOULD LOOK LIKE IF HE OR SHE IS STANDING BEFORE YOU. UNDERNEATH
HER PICTURE DESCRIBE HER ROLE. DESCRIBE HER GOOD QUALITIES AS WELL AS ANY SHORT
COMINGS
Margo is a self described
Paper Girl who ran away from home. She plans out adventures in her little black
notebook and thinks that planning out adventures is more fun than actually
doing them. Basically she is a hot chic who turns out to have the craziest
experiences when she got lost., she was one of the most popular kids at her
school and she has this charisma that would make you like her even if you
really don't know her. She has blue eyes and dark brown hair.
She is different than
any other girls. She is witty and deep, appealing but tough, hilarious but an
explorer type of chic and mysterious.
“Nothing ever happens like
you imagine it will”Margo Roth Spiegelman
